I’ve had Plexamp casting to a groups of of Nest Mini’s, Nest Audios, CCA’s, and Google Cast devices for years with minimal issues. The past few weeks I have found that when I cast to a particular “speaker group” that includes two Nest Mini’s, both initially play fine, but start to glitch out after a few seconds.
I have heard that Google recently “updated” the casting system to (GC4A) 2.0 on Nest Mini’s recently, and thatmore devices are in the pipeline to switch over soon. I wonder if there is something in the new protocol that is incompatible with the old protocol that is causing this, and if so does Plexamp need to make any changes to it’s casting protocal?
Both Nest Mini’s are on the newest firmware: 20251119_1643_RC07
