Categories and language clash

Okay…I’ve got a movie section, and it’s setup to use Freebase agent, with danish as selected language.

And here’s the problem, which I beleave is a design problem with the database :frowning:

If a movie is scanned, and freebase has some danish translation for it, it will categorize the movie using danish words for the categories and if not, it’ll default to English

I now have categories like:

Music and Musik

War and Krig

Romance and Romantik

In other words, both English categories, as well as the same categories in danish, but…

It’s not object orientated, and as such, one movie might be categorized in Music, but does not show in Musik and visa versa

So…Kinda hard to use categories, IMHO

RFE: Plz. make categories Object orientated, and language adhere

Anyone ?

I never give in, so moved to "Plex Media Server Preview Releases" forum

Hello,

Same problem for me, this essential feature is just unusable!

For sure every user without english as native language will encounter the bug of mixed categories.

My category list is sooo long, i just don’t understand every category name in english, and when i want to apply a filter, i have to select both categories, in english and in french :frowning:

So please, give us a way to make a sort of mapping between english and foreign languages categories.

Many thanks for reading, i really love this software and will be Plex greatest french fan if someone could do something for this

And to add.....

An xml file with all relevant categories in english, and then let the community add the translations, just like any other translations....

Note to devs though: Some categories can be translated into many local versions, so ....

Up please, this one is really annyoning :-<br>

Are we the only ones experiencing this problem, or is it a common problem for everybody, but everybody just don’t care ?

Up ! :)

Up ! :)
