Categories support for XML EPG's

Please can you add support for channel/programme categories in Live TV/DVR when using XML EPG’s like you have for the built in plex ones from Gracenote.

There’s already an existing suggestion discussing that option. I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes. Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.

Utilise channel categories from XMLTV files

I love the Live TV feature, it’s really a great addition to Plex. However, it seems that the Plex Channels are sorted into categories, however, if you use an external EPG source (xmltv/xTeVe), you don’t get the categorisation on your channels, despite that data being available. More info can be found here, with some research by @ukmike. Could this feature be added? It would be the icing on the cake, saving scrolling down one huge list.
