I really like the various mix options Plexamp provides.
Unfortunately, my old car doesn’t have aux in.
It would be nice if plexamp has CD burning feature ( data cd or music cd )
Or, downloading files as mp3 (with the sane filename and meta data) would be OK.
There’s other kinds of adapters… you might still be able to find audio-out -> radio (am/fm) transmitters; I remember there even used to be adapters for audio-out to cassette (just writing this makes me feel old)
+1 to cassette adapters. Brings back the memories.
If you don’t mind bluetooth, there’s aftermarket Bluetooth adapters as well. I got one from gtacarkits.com and it was relatively easy to install. I’m sure the install is more difficult for some cars, but I’ve been pretty happy with the performance.
Just saw one at Amazon that ‘broadcasts’ to an empty FM radio station - for $15.
Alternate methods are probably going to be best for many reasons - one of them being it’s probably just on the other side of legal to Burn CDs off of Plexamp and Plex don’t wanna go there, do they?
I’m still tryin’ to figure out what Plexamp is so I can figure out why I need it.
Chances are I don’t.
Yes, the issue with the FM transmitters is they’re not very powerful, and if you live in a fairly populated area it’s hard to find a clean band that will work for your commute. I used to use that method, but preferred installing the bluetooth adapter directly to the headunit for this reason.
