Certain library keeps getting stuck on [0x7fd53e09e840] DEBUG - Adding file for scanner: ""

For 1 specific folder/library regardless of the scanner or agent that is used the scan turns into an infinite loop of [0x7fd53e09e840] DEBUG - Adding file for scanner: “”. It’s the only thing in the log files and it’s as if it gets caught on a file or something that just breaks plex. But I’ve tried removing folders etc and it doesn’t make a difference. I don’t know what information to provide but plex can definitely see the folders and my other 8 Libraries work perfectly. I’m pretty sure it’s not a permissions issue but I have no idea what to do. This issue specifically occurred after switching to Ubuntu. The same folder scanned fine on windows

Log files please?

The only reasons a file would keep being added (until point of failure)

  1. Symbolic link to itself
  2. Automatic update enabled and file is being modified / updated / written to by external program.

  1. Start the scan
  2. Let it finish
  3. Settings - Server - Troubleshooting - Download Logs
  4. Attach the ZIP file

The file system errors and reasons to add to the scanner are not located in the Scanner logs.

I haven’t seen it manage to complete the scan before so here is the logs after while it is seemingly stuck. I will also leave it going in case it actually completes

There is corruption in the file system. With this type of corruption of the name, it is very likely there is other corruption of the file / directory pointers too.

Notice the directory name characters. This is more indicaton of where your problem is.

The .plexignore is showing us the name of the directory (where the ignore begins) is already problematic.

I cannot be more specific with this level of data.

I see, I presume the corruption isn’t just it not recognizing Japanese characters?
What would you recommend to get rid of the corruption?

Edit: Issue has been resolved. It was because of files with names that were too long. Wasn’t a problem on windows for some reason
