Certain MKV files cause NVIDIA shield to reboot

Currently I have PMS server installed on a Synology NAS device (version 1.32.5.7328-6000) I have 2 NVIDIA shiled one in the living room and one in the bedroom, both have Plex version 9.27.0.2856 (5e0504f) installed on them. I noticed that certain 4K/2160p/MKV do not play on the bedroom shield, the minute I press play the screen goes black and then reboots the whole shield not only the app. However, the Shield in my living rooms plays these fine without any issue. Again the movie files originate from same sever, shields have same PLEX version… Why is this happening, the only difference is the TV they are plugged into via HDMI. Any light or guidance that someone can provide would be great at this is driving me nuts…! Thanks much in advance.

what you describe is often a Nidia problem.

  1. make certain all updates are applied and restart
  2. if all updates have been applied
    –AND–
    There aren’t a lot of other apps installed – CONSIDER a factory reset and reload it.
    (It does happen)

Please note I performed a factory reset and still the same issue is present. Please help this is so frustrating. Thanks
