Currently I have two TV shows that are being either mis-tagged, or completely over looked.
Most notably is the Golden Girls, I have seven seasons of that. I just set up Plex Media Server yesterday, have done a good bit of troubleshooting already, and am mostly pleased with the results. For all seasons, only one episode would show up. OK, I looked in the FAQ and saw that it wanted specific naming conventions. I changed everything in season one to fit what it was expecting (in this case it was "TGG - so1e01.mkv").
That made it see all the episodes, however it thought they were all named the same thing, or possibly the same episode, but the episode number did change. So I went back and added in all the titles, i.e. "TGG - s01e01 - The Engagement.mkv". That eventually got me a complete season 1, with names, episodes numbers, etc. That is also interesting that it worked however since according to the naming conventions, the only thing it expects to see is series title and season/episode number. Everything after the second dash, the episode title, is supposedly ignored by Plex.
OK, I thought, I got this figured out. I went through and did Season 2 the exact same format, "Series - sXXeXX - episode title.mkv". While it was scanning, it split golden girls into two separate shows. Eventually, that second entry disappeared, but Season 2 went back to being a single episode.
I tried season 3, exact same naming convention, and same issues. First, a separate show entry, and then nothing. Just one episode in season 3. An interesting thing to note is that whatever episode number it sees happens to correspond with the season number, so season 2 only sees episode 2, season 3 only sees 3, etc.
Not sure what else to change at this point.
A second smaller but similar problem is I have a few random episodes from Season 9 of How I Met Your Mother. Not so random actually, a big chunk from the beginning (episodes 1-13), then a chunk at the end (episodes 20-23). There are two separate entries, mostly split along those lines. However, it decided episode 22-23 was actually from season 1, and threw it back into the first How I Met Your Mother show entry. That episode is a two parter, where episodes 22-23 are contained in one file and are named as "HIMYM - s09-e22-e23 - Last Forever.mp4"
At this point I am fairly stumped. If anything had some insight into either of these problems, it would be much appreciated!
