Server Version#: Version 1.20.1.3252 Windows 10
Player Version#: unknown can not find where to look for it.
Some TV episodes are not showing up in folders in PMS.
I have a TV show Stargate SG1 For example Season 3 there are 22 episodes
and only 13 will show. These are ripped from DVDs in .mp4 format. H.265
They are named like Stargate SG1 - Season 3 Episode 1, Stargate SG1 - Season 3 Episode 2, etc But they show up on the Roku TV as S3 . E1, S3 . E2, etc.
The Plex Roku app version I have is. Version 6.6 . Build 10 and its up to date.
All files on PC play perfectly in VCL Player, Winamp, and WMP and the XBOX Player. I donât know why Plex is having a hard time viewing some of these file
becuse they are all in the same format. Its like Plex server is drunk or something.
IMO, Plex has codeing issues that needs fixing. No matter what season of Stargate SG1 I watch episodes 11 and 21 are missing in all of the 10 Seasons. This is something wrong with the server its not my files at fault.
^^^ Thatâs your issue.

Once I changed to the âPlex Wayâ of naming and organizing my files, they go in and are recognized almost flawlessly. The only problematic ones I have now are new (2020) shows. Itâs like the metadata sources arenât updated yet.
Filebot is software that helps you make your naming compliant:
Not so, I tryed renaming they in the Plex Way and it didnât work.
Please show us your file names (and the folder structure!).
You might have to perform the Plex Dance after changing file and/or folder names.
Oh yea, forgot about the Plex Dance. Need to do that especially if you have renamed them in Plexâs view. Shoulda told you to take them out of Plexâs view, rename them then put them back in.
Like Otto suggests, could help more if saw the structure & naming.
Ive beed renaming the files directly in the folder on PC because it is less complicated than trying to rename through Plex. Iâm no longer useing Plex to rename files. I have over 10000 files to edit its to much like work.
No matter which why I rename them some still get skipped or not show.
Gives up
I think I know whatâs going on here why the episodes 1,11, and 21 in each season
wonât show its becase Plex is deleteing them. I just rpped them again and put them
in their season folders and when I went to play them on Plex they were there.
The next day episodes 1,11, and 21 disapeared again out of the folders. This only happen when I use Plex.
Please go to the top level of the show and âEditâ it.
Go to the âAdvancedâ tab.
Inspect the status of the various drop-down selectors there, particularly those labeled âKeepâ and âDelete episodes after playingâ.
I edit the 1Season of Stargate SG-1 and now none of them show up now.
I donât understand any of what your talking about.
I need a book for dummies.
I assume that your tv show library is now thoroughly messed up.
Therefore I suggest you remove it completely: https://support.plex.tv/articles/200289286-deleting-libraries/
Afterwards, you create a fresh library of the type âTV Showsâ: https://support.plex.tv/articles/200288926-creating-libraries/
While doing so, you must point Plex to the folder which contains all your tv shows.
You donât add the tv shows individually!
Below is an example of a folder structure for tv shows in Plex.
Make sure that the tv show library in Plex only points to D:\TV Shows
.
Not one folder level above, nor below that!
D:\TV Shows
\Stargate SG-1
\Season 01
Stargate SG-1 - s01e01.mp4
Stargate SG-1 - s01e02.mp4
Stargate SG-1 - s01e03 - The Enemy Within.mp4
Stargate SG-1 - s01e04 - Emancipation.mp4
...
Once you have done this, âScan Library Filesâ. https://support.plex.tv/articles/200392106-library-actions/
Now the tv show should show up.
It will appear on the Home page of the Plex web app https://app.plex.tv
similarly like this:
Right underneath the poster, is the title of the TV Show. Click on it.
(Donât click on the text in the second row under the poster)
It will bring you to the top level page of the show:
Click on the âpencilâ icon.
After going to the âAdvancedâ section in the left menu, make sure that
âKeepâ is set to âAll episodesâ
and
âDelete episodes after playingâ is set to âNeverâ
just like in the screenshot.
Oh forget that. This is too techie for me.
Ill just uninstall plex and use a HDMi cord to watch them.
Iâm a big fan of doing something simple that works, when I want to watch TV!
This doesnât have to be complicated, if youâre still interested. Itâs a lot of little steps but not rocket surgery.
Ok, I just deleted all the Stargate SG-1 files from PC and ripped fresh new ones
with the correct names. The names look like this, Stargate SG-1 - s01e01, Stargate SG-1 - s01e02, etc. Hopefully this should fix the issue when I add that folder to my library.
Also, I downloaded a simple TV Show renamer to rename the files for me.
So for it seems to be working.
