Certificate wont download

Server Version#: Version 1.29.2.6364
@ChuckPa

anytime i delete the plex media folder it don’t download the certificate. then it gives me error 404. i have an old certificate but not sure if its good. since it don’t auto download i assume there is some kind of issue

are the certificates associated to the database in plex as well?

@joe.king.cool

You used up all the certificates you were allowed within a 90 day period all at once.

I have reset your certificate so you can download fresh.

Before restarting PMS to obtain the new certificate,

  • Under the Plex Media Server/Cache folder, you will find cert-v2.p12.
  • Please delete it

@ChuckPa

thank you for resetting cert for me. is there certain things that trigger it to ask for a new one? so i can try to avoid this?

@joe.king.cool

If there’s a permissions problem or anything which prevents the cert-v2.p12 from being written, it will ask for a new one.

Every restart of PMS made it ask for a new one.

That’s what happened here.

Something in the filesystem there stopped it from writing.

It’ll be a subtle problem but once you see it, lightbulb will illuminate

i deleted the entire folder instead of contents instead of plex folder. in case it was a permission issue. i think that fixed it. thank you for resetting it
