Hi. New Plex user here running latest Plex Server on Windows 10.
Is it possible to change the default setting for the Advanced Setting: “Delete episodes after watching”. This option is located under the Advanced section of Series EDIT.
All of my TV Series have been set to the default action of “Never”, but i would like to use one of the other avialable options of “After a day” or “After a week” as my system wide default. I this possible??

Well, sure - edit each TV Show library and no, that won’t work for movies… so… no, not really.
Plex pretty much took care of client deletion with the most recent:

Thanks JuiceWSA. I will be testing the automatic episode deletion over the next couple of days and will report back.
For now I have manually set the Advanced EDIT option “Delete episodes after watching” to “After a day” for a few of my most used TV Series.
The problem is i have 30+ TV Series and having to manually set this option for each individual series is a real P-I-T-A, hence my desire to be able to change the default behaviour setting for this option somewhere [Preferences setting / Registry].
Yea, I see your point. I have 100+ TV Shows in 6 TV Show Libraries, so ‘convenient’ doesn’t exactly come to mind.
I would appreciate any evidence you could offer in the pursuit of the poison needed to kill this recent bug regarding client deletion procedures, or the lack thereof.
I am happy to report that the “Delete episodes after watching” option does work correctly. With this option set to “After a day” the watched episodes were correctly removed by the scheduled housekeeping tasks from my Plex library AND physically deleted from the disk. This is exactly what i wanted to happen.
NOW what i need is the OPTION to be able to set the value “After a day” as the default (instead of Never) for all my TV Series without having to EDIT each series individually.
I will post this as a suggestion for future consideration, unless someone tells me i can already set this default somewhere.
Bump. Default show behavior settings (e.g. episodes deleted after watching) would be very helpful.

Change default behavior or bulk, showing all the series with a check mark next to them for “delete after X”
If you would like a feature you need to go to the Feature Suggestions area and look for an existing feature request, if one is not found add a new one. Posting a feature request in any other area and everyone adding comments +1 comments does not get it showing for features requested.
Where in the Plex Database is this setting configured?
It should be fairly easy to mass update it via SQL pending whenever you guys get around to fulfilling the feature request…

Changing the parameter default from “never” to “after one day” works on some with of the shows I DVR, but on most of my DVR’d shows - after these show are aired and delete, the parameter is automatically reset to “never” again. I reset the parameter to “after one day”, and it stays set until the show is aired and watch again, then it’s automatically set back to “never” again. This is really frustrating to say the least.
Does the option to delete episodes also work on managed accounts or only on admin??
