Strange question perhaps?
Let me elaborate. I have a Denon receiver which I have set up to use pro-logic decoding when 2 channel source is sent over HDMI. All video content with 2 channels of course benefits from this, as the center channel is used.
However, when playing (2 channel) music from PHT, also 2 channel audio is sent to the receiver, which promptly switches to Pro-logic decoding, which isn’t too good for music content.
What I want to achieve is, for music only, to send LPCM 5.1 to the receiver, with the L & R channels properly mapped, and silence on the other channels & to achieve perfect stereo without having to touch my receiver. I was able to test this using ALSA, outside openPHT.
I understand that this question is very “niche”
I had no issues building openPHT on Ubuntu, so if someone can help me find the audio player (is it still paplayer?) in the source I might give it a go.
Thanks!
