Hi folks, I realise this isnt the support site for openpht but i think the problem lies in my setup of windows 7 rather than Plex. Ive got all the codecs setup and i’m getting hd audio from MPC-HC,
Ive changed the settings in OPHT to HDMI and ticked all the boxes but its still doing 2 channel. I setup the same model of NUC a couple of years ago and I swear I used a very small program that asked me a few questions then hey presto it configured everything, I can’t seem to find this program anymore, (my memory is pickled) does anyone know what I am talking about? Maybe I need to move to windows 10, I loath it with every fibre if only because of those advertising questions during install, “do you want targeted adds or non targeted adds?” How about NONE!
I have read through other similar threads and they all seem to get it working when they discover the HDMI setting in OPHT.
Just remembered, I did try setting the windows output to 5.1 but then the amp just says Multi Channel, I have had these NUC’s running and my amp displays HD Audio etc. Its an I5.
I dug out an old PC and set it all up thinking it might have the software, its called SAF 6. I will report back, I now remember I used this for Media Portal, back in the days before I found Plex, not sure if it will work with plex but I will give it a go…
Ok so that didnt work, probably because Plex doesnt use any codecs im guessing. Can anyone tell me what im missing? Do i need to upgrade to windows 10?
All gone a bit quiet here, have I posted a question that people are tired of answering?
I bit the bullet and did the free upgrade to windows 10, still avail. for those that didnt realise, but that has changed nothing, OpenPHT still sending 2 channel to my receiver, anyone?
So ive been doing some reading and im hearing a lot of people say OPHT and PMP are dead in the water, time to move on, Just in case someone else has the same problem I managed to sort it by using PMP, now its time to look at Kodi…
Just a follow up, Plex Media Player isnt very good, 20 mins into a tv episode last night and the picture starts to freeze while the sound keeps going, this crashes the player too. After several re tries I switched to MPC-HC and watched the show, very disappointing to say the least.
