Change player reporting to PMS from "Plex Home Theater" to OpenPHT?

I would like to see which of the users I share my library with are using OpenPHT, and which are using Plex Home Theater (so that I can get them off of PHT and make them use OpenPHT) I’m not certain if players report themselves to PMS or if PMS just determines what the player is. What I do know is that when I check logs or activity in PMS, OpenPHT is reported as PHT and not OpenPHT. Can this be addressed?

Pretty sure this change is needed on Plex’s end, not OpenPHT’s.

I would think the OpenPHT team would just request a change for the next PMS release then. How would Plex, inc know to change it before they asked them?

They wouldn’t unless a Ninja passed on the info I imagine. Raise a request on OpenPHT’s github and I’m sure they’ll let you know if they need to do anything on their end.

I think it requires a change on both ends. OpenPHT needs to send a unique identifier in any case. PMS will see OpenPHT as PHT because OpenPHT is likely sending the same identifier to the server as PHT. Otherwise the server couldn’t possibly identify OpenPHT as PHT.
