So I started using Plex with my laptop so it is the main server or whatever. I can’t access anything from another device unless the laptop is on. Now I have a new pc that I want to make the main server/device or whatever the terminology is. So that it has to be on to access the media. Any ideas?
Not exactly sure what you’re asking for?!
You can migrate an existing server or simply create a new one on that new machine. When completing the setup – make sure to connect to that new server through its locally installed Plex Web (e.g. http://127.0.0.1:32400/web if you’re on the same system or http://[new server local IP]:32400/web if it’s on a different system in your home network).
After completing the setup, you might need to “reset” the customizations of your clients for it to pick up the new server and its libraries – otherwise you’ll always need to go through the "More > " button at the end of your pinned servers.

I was hoping. there was a simpler way to migrate servers but I might just end up making a new one for the new machine. Thanks a lot.
