I have ripped several movies that just show up in Plex as Zero Zero and some kid cartoon image. They are movies that Plex cannot figure out the name of. How can I fix this so they show up properly? This is on a Windows PC with Plex running. There are about 8 of these (out of 500+). There are other movies that are mis-labeled, as well.
Plex will never be able to figure out the titles of your media on its own, unless you:
- determine what you have is either a movie (one-off) or a TV show (episodic) and separate them into different types of libraries https://support.plex.tv/articles/201543057-why-is-some-of-my-content-not-found/
- give Plex a hint about which title it is by naming it appropriately, with at least including the official, complete title and the release year in the file name: https://support.plex.tv/articles/categories/your-media/
Stick to the media file organization laid out in these articles. If you do it differently, it might work for a while – until it doesn’t anymore.
