Changed email, now original email can't be used to create separate account

I setup an account for my mother using her email account, but then realized it really should be under my grandmother’s email because she’s the one using the living room device, so rather than create a whole new account, I just changed the email, name, everything on the existing account to match my grandmother’s info.

Now my mom needs her own account to watch in her room, but it’s telling me her email is already used. It’s been more than 48 hours since I made the changes to the account, so I’m not sure what to do. Very frustrating - any suggestions?

Plex is locking a previously used e-mail for a certain time after an account is deleted or (in your case) the e-mail address has been changed. IIRC it’s for 1 month and basically supposed to (a) give the „previous owner“ a chance to restore their old account/e-mail .

I changed the e-mail address on an account I use for testing.

Plex sent and e-mail to the original address saying “your e-mail was changed, you’ve seven days to revert if desired.” There was a link to revert the change. I clicked it and it happened immediately.

So, don’t know the duration of the lockout, but it will be at least 7 days.

It is 30 days when deleting an account. There is a warning message that pops up during the process.

Well checked the email and the email was changed on October 18th, so it’s been well over 30 days, but I still can’t use the original email to create a new account. Is there someone from Plex checking the forums who can help?
