Email taken issue

Hello I wanted to change the email for my plex account to my main email. Unfortunately I have made a plex account in the past with the email I wish to change it to. I deleted the plex account associated with the new email but It still says email already taken when I try to change the email even though that account was deleted. Does anyone know how to fix this

If you delete an account, the associated e-mail address cannot be re-used for 30 days.

This is mentioned on the confirmation page when deleting an account.

Contact Plex Billing, link at bottom of page. They may be able to bypass the 30 day lockout for you.


Delete your account (userid)

Before proceeding, please note:

  • If you simply wish to change your username, email address, or password, you can do so on your account profile.
  • If you are encountering an error with an app, connection problems, or similar, deleting your account will not resolve things. Instead, visit our support site or forums.
  • Once the account is deleted, you will not be able to use the same username or email address for a month.
    If you proceed, this will permanently delete your account and all its data within 30 days. Verify your account login information to confirm deletion or go back to your account page.
