When I have movies with many sequels, like nightmare on elm street or tremors PLEX ends up changing the names and saying I have 3 or more copies of 1 movie. For instance if I have tremors 1 through 7 it will take 3 and 4 and label them as tremors 1 then showing 3 copies of tremors 1 and no copies of 3 and 4. I have done everything I can think of to fix it even put each sequel in it’s own folder but once I fix the name on # 3 then 1 and 2 have the same poster and name and everything. On another post someone helped me with “Movie names keep getting changed” they had me go to settings /agents and grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ with my mouse and drag it downwards, so it ends up being at the bottom of the stack of active agents, but that does not help in this case. Any help would be appreciated.
I had a similar issue with Harmys Despecialized Editions of Star Wars. Have you edited the names of the movies and set the Title, Original title and sort title to something unique?
Or are all those blocks the same? Maybe check those. For me the solution was simply to fill in the blocks with unique values and lock them that way the agents wouldn’t try to match them up with the official Star Wars Movies. Something like the below:
Then the movies were sorted correctly and not combined. Make sure that the sort title or others has a lock icon. That should help keep things from changing on you.
You might have to unmerge or separate the titles that got merged and then fix the names
Lastly, what are the names for your movie files. How are they named in the file folder? Make sure to have the year in parenthesis that helps a lot.
Should be:
Tremors (1990)
Tremors 2 Aftershocks (1996)
Tremors 3 Back To Perfection (2001)
Tremors 4 The Legend Begins (2004)
Tremors 5 Bloodlines (2015)
Tremors A Cold Day In Hell (2018)
Tremors Shrieker Island (2020)
