I have a number of classical CD’s in my Plex collection. I would like to change the artist to the name of the composer (Vivaldi, Antonio) and the Album Name to include the artist/conductor and the symphony (The Four Seasons: Alan Loveday Academy of St. Martin’s in the Fields). When I think of The Four Seasons, Alan Loveday is not the first thing that comes to mind, so I want to organize the metadata so that it’s easy for me to find the album in my collection. I can do this, but it changes my album cover to an alert to correct the name of the artist and correcting the information will help Last.FM.
I don’t want to mess up anybody else’s data, I just want to organize my albums in a way that makes sense to me. Do I need to change it in the original ID3 files to avoid this problem?
Any changes you do on your Plex server will not propagate back to last.fm
