I currently have Plex Media Server Version 1.40.2.8395 working on a Terramaster F4-210 NAS with 4x 8Tb hard-drives all working fine using Plex on my TV, laptop and Amazon Fire Cube, but I recently bought a Synology_DS224 (Plex Media Server version 1.40.4.8840.72008840) that currently has 1x 16tb (2 partitions) drive installed, but for some reason I cannot get the films on there added to my plex library, The folders add ok but according to Plex they’re empty although the folders do show up in the left-hand menu along with my other folders, I can access them in File Manager on the laptop and add/remove files, both NAS are in the same Workgroup and on the same router.
When I launch Plex from either of the NAS it always defaults to the Terramaster setup, but if I ask Alexa to play something from Plex it always says the Synology has nothing on it. when i go to settings on the Plex webpage both NAS show up there.
As the Synology is newer and more powerful (can play 4K), what i would like to do is have Plex launch from the Synology instead of the Terramaster but still be able to add the folders on the Terramaster to the Synology Plex, how do I do this please?
Would just uninstalling Plex from the Terramaster work so that Plex was only running on the Synology then let me add the Terramaster folders so I could have films on both NAS drives? I haven’t tried yet as I don’t want to mess up what I have.
I do have Plex Pass if that makes a difference.
Cheers
