I added some new tv shows to my library but even after rescanning libraries they are not showing up.
I went to add a new library and it looks like the folders are still the folders on the old server. How to I force PMS to use the local directories to add new movies and TV Shows?

Edit the Library settings with the new paths
I shut down and restarted the server and it seems to have corrected this when using the web app.
Now I find that the app on my Pixel is still pointing to the old server. I logged into my plex.tv account and it is still linked to the old server not the new one.
Edit: This is only when I connect from my Android or the plex.tv login. Inside my network, the web app connects to the correct server.
Update. After stoping and restarting the new server on my NAS, when I connect to plex on my NAS it is still showing the old server.
I uninstalled Plex (unclaimed the server) moved the PlexMediaServer folder and reinstalled Plex (beta) from the synology package manger.
When I open Plex from the NAS, it displays “No Soup For You You do not have access to this server”.
Why is this so difficult? What am I doing wrong. I figured a clean install would work but not the case.
I just want to start from scratch…
I think I finally got it all figured out. Had to uninstall and reinstall a couple of times before it asked me to claim the server. Now all devices are set to the new server.
I’m sorry for catching up so late.
Whenever you have a claiming issue on Synology DSM 7 after you’ve installed it.
Uninstall the package with the KEEP option
Reinstall the same SPK file again
– Use the “New or Lost” servers (the Plex Claim Token radio button)
– Click the hyperlink to get a new token
– COPY that link into your browser
– Return to the installer and PASTE it into the form
– Continue to install (within the next 4 minutes before the token expires)
– The installation will confirm the server is claimed by showing your Plex username.
Use Plex normally from that point forward

I thought I had everything figured out. I do have the correct server now and it is reading the files on the NAS as I desired.
However, I notice that several of my TV shows are not being loaded/imported.
For Example:
I have several Star Trek Shows (each with multiple seasons)
Star Trek Discovery
Star Trek DS9
Star Trek Voyager
Star Trek Picard
Star Trek Strange New Worlds
The Only one that shows is Discovery.
When I look (on plex) at the Discovery Season 04 (for example) I notice that the Thumbnail/Poster for Season 04 Episode 13 seems to be from Star Trek DS9. I clicked on the Pencil and then Info and it is showing multiple files…
My files are all named according to the naming convention as you can see from the path. How do I correct this?
Reapply permissions.

I am curious which top-level folder you’re using for your TV shows
You should also check the name for DS9

As for the permissions, there was a system user for PlexMediaServer so I used that one as I saw in a youtube video… This user has read/write perms on my Media folder down…
My TV Shows are in the following form…
/volume1/Media/Plex/TV Shows/Star Trek Discovery/Season 01/Star Trek Discovery - s01e01 - The Vulcan Hello.mkv
Does the name need to be Deep Space Nine and not DS9 ? This is interesting because I don’t have any TV Shows listed in Plex for DS9 or Voyager… for example…
UPDATE:
I removed all of the Star Trek Shows and added back Discovery (all was good).
Then I added back Deep Space Nine and for some reason, they are added to the Discovery show in PLEX.
Your first example was this
You can’t have several different Star Trek shows in one root Star Trek folder or it will start randomly combining all those shows into one
Your second example appears to be correct
Digging a little deeper…
I removed all but Discovery, stopped plex and restarted. I verified the correct number of sesons/episodes of discovery and they are correct.
I added Strange New Worlds to the Star Trek Folder. For some reason when I rescan the libraries, Plex is matching these with the Season 01 files for Discovery.
Here is when I click the pencil for Discovery S01E01 and click Info:
I just moved Strange new worlds up 1 level to my TV Shows/ instead of TV Shows/Star Trek/ and it seems to work. It seems we cannot group common shows together?
You cannot
You may have some shows you can get away with this, but not with Star Trek
I’ve seen multiple people have this same exact problem. The only “Star Trek” folder you should see is if you have the original Star Trek (1966) show
Same goes for movies. You cannot put all your Star Trek movies in one Star Trek folder
That kind of organization is great for file systems but a nightmare in Plex.
