Changing player, how to keep the current queuing playlist?

Hello

i have 2 players for casting: plexamp RPi and Sonos loudspeakers.
When i switch, the playlist changes to start with the last played for the player.
But when i change room, i want to keep my current listening.

How is possible to keep listening when changing player to cast?

Thanks

I’m having trouble understanding the exact issue. By “changes to start with the last played” you mean it starts playing the previous track?

In general, casting to Sonos—bluntly—doesn’t work very reliably. You’d be better off getting a Pi and hooking it up to Line in of the Sonos if it has such a thing.

Hello
I would like to keep my queuing playlist when i change the player but it seems not the case when Sonos plays the last song it played.
What is the normal behavior regarding current playing playlist with change of players?

I have noticed that Sonos playback is unstable.
Chromecast built-in is better managed?

It should transition seamlessly, same track and same location in the track, with a currently playing play queue.

Chromecast should be more reliable generally, but not as good a player as headless Plexamp (gapless, sweet fades, loudness leveling).

Thanks Elan, the normal behavior is what i expect but not working well in my system.

Fortunatly, my Sonos are not my main listening point, i use them in my bathroom, so i am not so demanding. I plan to exchange it with a chromast Google Nest Audio.

For me, it’s difficult to add a RPI to each player in the house.
I have one only for my main listening system (Devialet in my living room), it’s enough for me, but i expect from Plexamp to work in a multiroom mode seamless. That’s a pity that Sonos, big market player, is so unstable.

You’re a lucky guy to have a Devialet, I’ve always wanted to hear one of those.

It can do that, but it’s always going to work best with Plex players as opposed to having to go to a “foreign” player.

Agreed. It’s just not an easy thing to do, and even if some of the biggest issues were fixed, you still wouldn’t get all the features of a Plex player.
