Hi.
Background Use Scenario:
I’ve been running a pi with plexamp for music in our studio for a long while and its awesome.
My Wife and I work together and both sign in to the same Plex account so we can start a playlist playing on the pi and control it from our devices.
It used to be that at any time I could connect to the pi via cast on my device plexamp and control the current playing playlist, no matter what had been playing on my device plexamp, once connected i was controlling the current queue/playlist on the Pi.
This would would no matter who had started the playlist or even if we’d started it direct from the Pi, as my pi ‘headless’ has a 7" touchscreen. ![]()
My Problem:
However a few months ago a change was made. Now when I cast from my device plexamp to the headless, if there had been something playing on the device plexamp, the cast dialog has a “confirm” and “cancel” options.
Since this change when I connect my device plexamp to the pi plexamp, if something is playing on the device, the “confirm” option changes whats playing on the pi to what is playing on my device.
This makes some sense, hence the “confirm”, yet as there is no way to stop playback so as to not be playing anything on plexamp, I can no longer control the existing currently playing playlist\queue on the pi.
How:
Sometimes when I open plexamp on my device there is nothing playing but I have no idea how to get to this state. I’ve tried opening and closing the app, disconnecting and reconnecting from wifi etc. What am I missing?
Can anybody PLEASE suggest how to clear plexamp so nothing is currently playing?
Otherwise surely we need two options on the cast dialog if something is playing on the device. One option to cast what is playing on the device to the pi and another to control what is currently playing on the Pi.
