I’ve got 25 seasons of a TV show (mp4 format) and each file has a picture of that season’s cover art. The poster is fine for the season poster, but its cut on the top and bottom for each individual episode (because its obviously too big). Every other show, as you probably all know, has a thumbnail preview snap of something from the ep. i can change all of them manually, since those snaps are in the poster section, but it takes forever. im tired just after 2 seasons. so my question is, is it possible to have plex use ITS default thumbnails instead of the ones embedded in the mp4 file itself? or do i just have to bite the bullet over the next week? im using an nvidea shield for the server, and with the recent issues, id hate to have to do this all over again in the future manually a second /third/etc time. thanks in advance!
Edit the library,
go to the Advanced tab
clear the checkbox “prefer embedded meta tags”.
You might also wanna experient with the checkbox “Use local assets”.
Refresh Metadata of the whole show after making changes.
Alternatively, remove the embedded posters from the files.
