Changing User On Xbox One

Morning,

 

I have the Plex app on my sons Xbox One which works perfectly! the only thing I cant do is login to the app as him (Child account so no 15 & 18 Films)

 

Is this because the App does not support multiple users or is there a way to change it but I'm being blind :-)

 

Any info would be much appreciated

The app has a single Plex user per Xbox Live account right now.

If your son has a separate gamertag, you can set up a managed Plex user for him and filter your library using Plex Home:

Then you can sign in with that account on his gamertag.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, I have already set up a new user for him in plex which works fine in web but in the Xbox app I cant find a way to log him into the plex app as him (he is the only user on the Xbox) when I installed the app and connected the server it has automatically showing him all films as me and I can choose a different user.

Am I missing the setting some where?

When you enter the PIN the Xbox shows you on your computer, it connects to whatever account you were signed in on that computer.

If you go to the XB1 settings in the app, you can check which user it's connected to and 'Sign Out'. After that you should be presented with the PIN screen again. If you are signed in as your son on a computer on plex.tv, then you should enter the PIN there.

Hi,

Right, I found the setting which I signed out the user but it does not give me the option to sign in a different user apart from a different xbox live user.  I have created my son a local plex account should I of created him a different type account?

If you could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it :-)

Just to add to this, I set my son up a a managed plex user if that makes any difference?

Once you've signed out, you should have no plex account connected to your son's xbox account. When you start the Plex app again, you should see the PIN entry screen.

We use the PIN entry to connect the Plex account to the gamertag. You need to be logged into plex.tv with your son's account. My advice was wrong previously - you need to have a full (but free) account on plex.tv for him, not just a managed account. You can still invite this account into your home.

Once he has a plex.tv account, you should be able to enter the PIN and connect the two.

OK, I have created him a plex account , invited him and added him to my home :-)  So when I go home tonight do I need to login to his plext.tv account on the xbox one web browser and then open up the plex app to link it to him?
