Is there a way to add a plex home managed user to xbox one? Kids have a live account but there does not seem to be a way to input the pin somewhere with a managed account since they are not "full" plex accounts.
Currently "Plex Home" features are only available on PHT, the plex.tv web interface, and the Test Channel on the Roku's
My bad...
Not true as of today since home users are now able to have access on xbox one to a shared server without themselves having plex pass. Added my wife as a plex home user and worked just fine. Might be semantics.
The new plex xbox one app does in fact support plex home, but it doesn't look like you can just switch accounts similar to pht/plex web, and so far doesn't seem to work with managed users.. however it works fine with full plex users, simply make another plex account, and connect that one to your kids gamertag, then add that plex user to your plex home, et voila, the kids now have their custom plex experience.
Yes - knew that was a workaround but just wanted to sanity check if I needed to. Thanks!
I get what you're saying here about making them a full plex user, but I'm curious if you mean making them a free account or another pass account? I know when the app was first released, you could only login as a user if you paid for the pass. My brother has his own X1 and I'd love for the things he's watching to not effect what I'm watching.

Steppenwollf, is your wife a Home only (managed) user or a full Plex user (non PlexPass)?
This isn't working for me at all. I'm sure I have the update as I have the film strip icon to watch trailers. However, I just created a non PlexPass account for my daughter. I then opened up Plex under her account on the XBox. It asked me to activate it. Once I entered the code from the XBox it said that PlexPass was required. Am I doing something wrong?

Did you add her plex account to Plex Home? I just did the same with an account for my wife and it's working perfectly.

That was it, I added her as a friend instead of adding her to Plex Home. Working now!

Don't have additional users setup so haven't tested, but within the Plex app if you hit the settings button it says "Switch Users".
So is it possible for managed users to use the app now? If so, i can't get it to work. I have created managed users for my kids. When i have my son launch the xbox plex app i get an error that says a plex pass is required (which my xbox live account is associated to).

No, it has to be an actual plex.tv account that has been invited to home for it to work.

Well that's disappointing. I guess i'll wait another 2 months for an update.

Why? A free account will work, it doesn't need to be a PlexPass account. Just create a new Plex.tv account and you'll be good to go. The way XBox authenticates, I doubt we'll see local managed users in the app any time soon.

This^^
With the way the xbox already has users built in, this is likely the way it will continue to work due to the way it authenticates.
Suggestion:
Map Plex user to XB1 user.

Not sure who you're talking to, but this is how it works, 1 xbox live user to 1 plex user.

i believe this lets you switch xbox users not plex users.. at least when I select it no plex menu to select a different plex user.
So I now have my wife and 2 kids on XB1 with separate XB1 ids and then separate plex user accounts (non pass) mapped to their XB1 ids. When you switch to the different XB1 ids the correct plex account will open with the correct restrictions tied to the plex user. Meaning kids get kids movies wife gets all movies. So the home switching for a user really in this case is switching the XB1 ids. For this purpose managed home users don't work because there isn't a email/XB1 id to attach them to. Everything works but it is different than on Plex Home Theater.
