So I’ve changed my settings to scan my library for Super Sonic, and its gone through one night of processing scheduled tasks (6 hours). However, I have no idea if it’s done any scanning - I would assume it’ll take longer than one night to do, so I don’t expect to see any of the new features in the media player / Plexamp yet. Where would I look in the logs to determine if it did any of the Sonic Analysis?
Look in the Plex Media Server[n].log
(Look at the timestamp of the file and pick the one which has a time stamp which lies closest after the end of the maintenance period.)
Search for the term sonic
The most interesting lines are like this: DEBUG - [Butler] Sonic analysis group complete (processed: 576/1036).
The numbers after “processed” show the progress with done/total.
Thanks for the quick response - it wasn’t in the log, which made me go back and re-read the instructions. I had forgotten to enable sonic analysis for my specific music library (in the Edit Library menu).
So how do we read the info presented in the log files?
The last entry during my scheduled maintenance period on 23 August was “Sonic analysis group complete (processed: 108/451)”. The last entry on 24 August was “Sonic analysis group complete (processed: 80/344)”.
Would it be correct to interpret this as “Albums scanned in this session”/“Total unscanned albums at the start of this session”?
