Choppy TV DVR Video since update to V:1.18.0.1913

Server Version#: 1.18.0.1913
Player Version#: All (Amazon Fire and iOS 13.1.2

Since the last update, I have found when TV is recorded via the DVR that the recorded results are choppy and skips forward by a few seconds here and there. It is not constant but makes watching recorded TV difficult at best.

I checked the antenna - all good. I checked the my WinTV-quadHD card (on Win10 PC) by directly opening the TV card app and the tv is smooth and displays without issue. That leads me to rule out everything except the Plex Server - again, everything was working fine prior to the update. It seems to be occurring on any channel that is recorded.

Any ideas?

Known issue… Should be a new version available in the Preview channel…

How do I install the preview channel version? Or should I just wait for an update?

IIRC, the same post said it would be available to everyone on Monday, so if you can wait…

The setting for changing what release you are tracking should be towards the bottom of the server’s general settings tab…

Change the server update channel to “beta”. This is fixed in the 1.18.0.1944 beta release.

This is the first post that I have seen that has stated this is a known issue and its been super frustrating. I have been thru 2 days of hell trying to figure out what the hell is going on thinking my server or maybe even something in my network was going down the tubes (or worse yet my homerun prime). Everything recorded these last 2 days is pretty much unwatchable. I have never had an issue with a public release before but this one actually seems more along the lines of a beta because anyone using plex for live tv seems to be having an issue.

I agree it was a little crazy to release it so fast to the general public when it was having problems in beta…

Here was the thread I was tracking about the problem…

I changed mine to beta and now it shows the update available, but it will not manually update in unraid. Help?
