This would be a sync nightmare impossible to get audio and video to sync correctly!
Might be a nightmare, though if the tracking on the mobile device already works, I'm not sure why the audio sync would be so impossible. If it could be done (a la Roku 3's remote) would be pretty sweet. Would be cool if you could add a device to the stream (watching a show when the kid falls asleep and both parents just plug into the phones to finish up?). Just spit balling though.
This would be kind of awesome if Google implemented it for the Chromecast as a whole. Suggest it to them as well :D .
Doing something like this would likely use / require multicasting and is a lot more complicated than you think
Regarding the Roku Remote, it is basically a bluetooth device to the roku and functions like another Audio output and is not even remotely in the same ballpark as Chromecast & Phone.
would be sweet if we had this with PHT, oh and incase there is a out of sync issue, the app on the phone can just have sync adjust buttons.
