Chromecast Issue Playing TV Recordings

Hi All

I purchased an HD HomeRun with the recent Plex Pass discount code and got it set up two days ago. I recorded two shows and managed to play them both back afterwards on a Chromecast with no issues :smile:

Yesterday I recorded some more shows. They play back fine on iOS and Web but when I come to play them on the Chromecast after the Chromecast player update that happened yesterday as well this happens:

It doesn’t happen all the time and seems to only affect certain parts of the programme or only individual adverts.
I’ve tried this on two different TVs with two different Chromecasts

There are a couple of videos that show the problem coming in and out (seemingly at changes of advert)

Unfortunately I deleted the episodes that I recorded on the first day after I’d watched them so I can’t check if it is the recording or the playback that’s the issue, but I suspect the latter.

Any idea if this is a bug or something that I’ve set up wrong?

My server is Version 1.12.0.4829 running on Ubuntu.

I’ve recorded some more programmes today and it’s only affecting HD recordings, not SD recordings.

Are you having any problems with buffering issues on playback? When i recorded a few shows for my kids they seem to work fine on iOS, PlexWeb and Roku, however when i attempt to play it through chromecast, i get constant buffering issues…like every 1-2 minutes.

My chromecast device has full wifi reception, so i’m not sure why this is happening

I’d forgotten I’d posted this. I’m no longer having the issue I detailed above but, yes I do have buffering issues but only on some shows.

For example Bake Off: The Professionals works fine but Match Of The Day buffers every couple of minutes on chromecast.
