Hi, Nearly every HD show I record via plex is a stutterfest on playback via my Chromecast v2. I also get a lot of artefacts, bottom half of the screen is striped (see Capture 2.png attached). Sometimes a show will start perfect and then go into stutter mode and then back to smooth etc depending on the scene. Looks like some scenes are a higher bitrate or something and cause Chromecast to have a spasm.
The streams are trying to be direct played (see capture.png) which is good, but not if they cause issues like I am experiencing.
If I drop the quality down a notch they start playing smooth, but they should play smooth by default without me having to manually adjust, if indeed it is necessary to transcode them at all. These files should be stored in the format that is chromecast friendly for direct play in my opinion.
Can this please be investigated, as this issue isn’t ideal and not family friendly to work with.
Plex needs to give some love to Chromecast, all I see is issues mounting up with Chromecast playback this year.
