Streaming to chromecast only buffers, never plays

Hi all

My plex has stopped streaming to my chomecast and I can’t figure out why

I havn’t used plex in a while as iv been watching nextflix, but we went back to watch some movies on our plex and noticed it was broken.

When we try to stream something it shows as buffering, but never starts to play

Things I have done

  • Factory reset chromecast
  • Reinstalled plex on my linux box
  • Fresh install of plex on my windows PC (with different media pool)
  • rebooted all parts of the network

Chromecast works fine with everything else, youtube, netflix, even desktop casting

and plex works fine playing within browser,
its only when i go to cast from the browser or app to the tv that it breaks

Does anyone have any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem, as do many others from what I can see.

It looks as though plex may have stopped supporting chromecast.
