I really need this. Iā€™ve decided to upgrade and do it so I can record but the live TV missing from Chromecast is a real issue. I use Chromecast to play all of my media.
TV is typically watched in the living room and not having Chromecast support really questions the usefulness of this service.
Any reply from a Plex Staff member informing us if this is even in the roadmap and if it is a rough idea of where!

Itā€™s been almost a year! The Chromecast app was updated in March to allow for this, yet we still wait for it to roll out. What is hindering the ability to use our streaming devices in a manner they were intended? Why is the team still silent about the lack of this feature?

+1 - I am in the same boat as everyone else, purchased a HDHome run which is working perfectly but I am stuck with a dumb TV and no option to cast. I love Plex, but this is a must have. Too many people rely on Chromecast

+1 BUMP. This is absolutely unacceptable that a product that we paid for hasnā€™t taken the all of 5 minutes to give us an update on clearly a wanted feature. Right around a year mark and just utter silenceā€¦

+1 here. Please make Live TV work on Chromecast. Just like a bunch of other people here, I bought a HDHomeRun to use Live TV in Plex. But 95% of my Plex usage is by Chromecast. So please give us all a nice Christmas present this year! :slight_smile:

This is the most important missing feature for me. I wonā€™t purchase a Plex Pass until this is implemented.

Why wonā€™t Plex at least provide a comment or update on this?! If this is never going to come to Plex I would like to know.

I am a plex pass member and finally bought an HD homerun just to find out i can watch like from my phone, but not TV? what the heck?!

I thought this was finally out of beta, but it feels very much like a beta.

So disappointed in this. Just dropped quite a bit of money on a 4 tuner HD Homerun only to find this limitation. I canā€™t even see it in small print on you advertising. It boggles my mind that this has not been implemented yet (or even that it was implemented and you removed it).

First thing: you need to fix your advertising. You are just pissing your loyal customers off by not including the limitations of your product. That sort of practise is illegal in most countries. You are selling a product that isnā€™t fit for purpose.

Second thing: Plex needs to be more transparent about its product roadmap. Thereā€™s no reason to not post about what you guys are working on, or giving your customers an update on where the development of particular features are at or even if they are going to be implemented at all. If you are open and transparent youā€™ll get a lot more support from the community if a feature is delayed. I mean we wonā€™t like it, but at least weā€™ll know what is going on.

Just trying to keep the feature request on their radar. Chromecast Live TV!!! Every time thereā€™s an update to the app I get excited for this featureā€¦ and nothing. The latest annoucementā€¦ TITAL, come on. How about you work on features that people have been asking for.

Itā€™s getting a little ridiculous at this point that it isnā€™t supported. At one stage I could send it to my chormecast from the chrome browsers plugin. It actually worked fine. Should release it for beta anyways and give people the option of using it or not with flaws and all.
