Yesterday, I went to play a movie I have watched 20 times on this Chromecast, new version. It says “An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Check your connection and try again”. I also noticed at the user screen it says “User switching is not available, check your Internet connection or status.plex.tv”
I have restarted the Chromecast. Other videos on Plex and apps work. I can watch this same movie from my Roku TV and browser.
I have the previous generation ultra-chromecast. It eventually have to restart it every few days. I used to be able to restart it using an http request, but unfortunately google shut down that feature in one of their updates. Now I recycle it by pulling the plug.
Anyway, CC is not the best when it comes to reliability, at least in my experience with the equipment and CC version(s) i’m using.
