Chromecast, Plex Photos: mp4 from Google: Server is not powerful enough to convert video?!

Hi,

For a long time now many mp4 videos cannot be played from Plex on Chromecast for Google TV. I wasn’t able to find similarities to say: well, it is this codec or that one. Not size, not bitrate, etc. Some do not play from that codec others not from another, e. g. some mp4 created from Cameras on Android at different Samsung Galaxy mobile phones (S10, S20…).

Some play on Plex for Windows (10, 64-bit), but not on Chromecast for Google TV.

Now a new error message caused me to write here again:
When playing “cinematic” mp4 (“3D”) from Google Photos on Plex on Chromecast (as a file on Windows Plex server), some cannot be viewed others can. Message: cannot be viewed.

The SAME mp4s on Plex for Windows show when trying to view them:
“Server is not powerful enough to convert video”

Ok. Why converting? Plex should show it.

We are talking about files between 25 and 35 MByte!

Store 4K video as H.265. Don’t try to use H.264/AVC for these.

Easier said than done. As almost everything I am having as mp4 (all episodes of all series etc.) has AVC (High@L4.2 or 5.2). e. g. when converting streams with VLC to mp4 the result is this.

Google is using this, too. There is no choice to use anything else.

Why it is working in other categories on Plex, but not in Photos?
