Hi.

 

Currently the Chromecast settings are somewhat abysmal. They work well for a lot of people, but for others it works terribly.

I am one of the people in the last category.

 

Most of my content is high bitrate, which gets transcoded no matter what settings i use. Only thing that helps, is altering the Chromecast.xml under Profiles.

So please, add something that makes it so that i don't have to actually alter files on the filesystem, to make plex NOT transcode my content.

Be it a settings pane on the server, or making Plex obey the client settings. (Server side would be prefered tho)

 

I might add, after altering the Chromecast.xml, 18Mbit/s 1080p works lovely. No transcoding, no stuttering, just plain sailing.

Android app, iOS app and Web app, all of them set to use maximum quality, but it still converts 1080p videos to a lower quality from time to time.
