Is there any plan to add back quality selection on android when casting video using Chromecast?

Is this about setting transcoding quality or selecting a specific version/copy/resolution of a show you have (“Play version”)?
For me, “Play version” always plays the video on the local android-mobile or plex-web client, and using the default Play button plays the video on Chromecast but auto-selects some version I do not want to play.
It seems this bug has existed since 2016. Did you have a different experience that this was supported at some point recently?
I filed my own bug report:
It used to be up until a recent android app update I could select the transcoding bitrate while casting. But now it just auto selects and does whatever it wants when you cast no bitrate selection. I think casting is dying anyway..

Yes, same issue. Casting chooses whatever version or transcoding (lack thereof) it wants. It’s totally broken right now.
I wish developers (not just Plex) would understand that users don’t want to log into hotels or friend’s TVs just to throw something on the screen.
They don’t want a TV-based app that requires you to learn the buttons and use the ridiculous on-screen keyboard.
Your phone is the most intuitive place to browse and configure content.
Don’t worry, the new Plex “experience” changed all that, so not even your phone is safe.
