I just recently got the Android 12 update on my CCwGTV device and I’m having the problem described in this thread, but only for one show: it’s a 720p show. Everything else I watch is 1080p and seems to be working fine, knock on wood. I hope there’s a fix for this soon.
I was having this issue on the October 2022 security patch, but I downgraded my app to the previous version (9.14 not 9.15) and it fixed the issues for me
Same, I sideloaded an older version of the app and now it works.
Is this the thread where the CCwGTV 4 Reference Frames issue is being tracked?
If so, is there any word whether Plex has acknowledged this issue and is working toward a fix?
Does side-loading an older version of Plex actually fix the 4 Reference Frame issue?
Could a Plex Employee please comment on whether this is the appropriate thread for tracking the CCwGTV issue with 4 Reference Frames?
If so, is this something that Plex, Google, or both are working toward a fix on?
Thanks!
What a bunch of BS! CCwGTV suddenly stuttering on files that should be NO PROBLEM!
Today i got a new update my Chromecast, and FINALY fixed the problem. half a year… Great…
Good news, but after so much time, I need to see to believe…
What update did you get? a CCwGTV firmware update or a Plesk Android app update?
Thanks for sharing ![]()
I answer myself, there is a new CCwGTV firmware update with the january security patch compiled in december 2022 but released now, at the end of april 2023…
I’ll test it and share here, I don’t have too much hope…
I confirm. Now I can play in Plex with no issues 23.976fps Dolby Vision FEL titles with TV-LED enabled without stuttering, but only when I enable resolution and framerate match.
Also Plex continues having trouble when exiting 24p and returning to 60p refresh rate and so often Chromecast break down and makes a system reset.
can you confirm which version/build of android that you updated to?
I’m having issues playing back Dolby Vision FEL files with standard/TV-led DV. The playback flashes/flickers a green tint over the picture every 2 seconds during playback. The playback doesn’t stutter or slow down, just flashes during playback that I think are related to frame rates and the FEL potentially.
I have non-seamless frame rate switching on the Chromecast and both refresh rate and resolution switching turned on in Plex app.
The last one, firmware STTE.221215.004.A1.9716989 with january security patch.
I have no issues with sound as other users reported nor the green flashes you said, but, as before, Plex continues having trouble with DV titles while fast forwarding or jumping to scenes, losing DV processing, but it has no issues playing from the beginning.
The stuttering continues present at every app. As I guessed, it happens when you play a video at a different frame rate than the one the video was recorded, because of this, when you enable frame rate match at Plex or Emby it doesn’t happens.
