Hi. I have an chromecast with google tv and a 4k samsung. I have plex and all movies with audio EAC3 or AAC won`t play. I have tried changing audio settings on google tv and plex but no way to play it. I have 3 tvs and on no one… In an mi box s and mi box 3 works well.
I was having the same issue. Are you by chance using the latest Plex linuxserver Docker image? I rolled back to the previous image and those files worked again.
Edit: Actually, doing more testing, in my case, it looks like an issue with Plex version 1.24.1.4931
What version are you running?
The last one from android tv playstore, version 8.21.2.27212. It is rare because same version works very well on android tv mi box s and mi box 3.

Sorry, I meant which version of Plex Server are you using? Have your Chromecast/android TV devices work previously?
No plex server… only plex app. I have plex app and a friend shared to me his server and i connect with my email. I think on some previous version of the app i swear i could play those archives. After a few updates it stop working. I will download previous version of plex app and try it.
I see. It’s possible your friend updated to the latest Plex Server Beta release and it broke AAC 5.1+ on chromecast like it did for me. I’d ask your friend to maybe roll back to 1.24.0.4930 to confirm the issue.
But on other devices it works well. Only on google tv it wont work. I have never thought that from that side it can influence on my android tv. I will ask him to see if can roll back.
The tv is an samsung 55ku6400
That’s exactly what my issue was. It worked on all my other devices, just not Chromecast until I rolled back.
And now,today without doing anything neither i or the server all movies with aac and eac3 are working. 
I`ve tried to see a movie now and it doesn´t work AGAIN!! WTF!! i don´t understand.
