Cannot play trailers or extras since upgrading to beta: v.1.40.2.8351-9938371be

On local server Conversion failed. The transcoder exited due to an error.

Using HW transcoder never had problem before

Had to turn off “play X number of cinema trailers” to watch movies

Trailers No Longer Play Through Samsung Smart TV Plex App

Can you grab the roku logs after trying to play one on it.

I am having the same issue. I don’t use the cinema trailers. Mine are just the automatically found extras for a movie. I get the conversion failed. The Transcoder exited due to an error, error. They all worked two days ago and today nothing. If I restart the Plex server, I will get one trailer before I get the error.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I am having the same issue too since I install the last version.
I hope that in the next version this error will be corrected…

Thanks to everyone for your kind remarks. I got the service back by disabling watching trailers. I am really frustrated. As I said before, years ago I lost the ability of watching new trailers. No one could help me to regain access to them. And now, I am loosing the possibility of watching trailers of my own movies. I hope we get the whole service back very soon.

This has been happening to many people all of sudden, me included, across two servers. It is a ‘server’ issue, not a ‘client’ issue.

If you do a time-sync on the server, it will fix the issue for some small period of time, but it will happen again. Not sure what changed to cause this, but it is very frustrating.

Just to add this here, at least for Windows, you can fix this (temporarily) by doing a time-sync on the server. If you do that, trailers will immediately begin to work, although some short time later they will stop again. (Until you do another time-sync).

The trailer issue just started happening to many people. On Windows, at least, if you do a time-sync, the trailers will start working again immediately. A short time later (I do not know how long), it will start to fail again. (Until you do another time-sync).

You can try that to see if it temporarily resolves your trailer issue. My guess is we’re all dealing with the same bug around time-sync.

Seems to be a CORS issue:

Access to XMLHttpRequest at ‘https://1-2-3-4.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.plex.direct:32400/video/:/transcode/universal/session/8fbklgb8rjdk2444gbocqi/base/00000.ts’ from origin ‘https://my.domain:32400’ has been blocked by CORS policy: The ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ header has a value ‘https://app.plex.tv’ that is not equal to the supplied origin.
