I use the Plex premium music agent, and it seems to never be able to find classical music albums. None of mine have album art imported, and the artist/composer/title seems very random as to what is displayed. For classical albums I would like to list by composer then title. I know this could be a problem with multi-composer albums. It appears that only my local tags are being used, and there is no extra metadata being imported.
I have very carefully edited the ID3 tags of these albums in MP3Tag. Is this a limitation of the premium music agent to identify classical abums? I feel that Gracenote should be able to identify these with no problems.
have you configured your library to prefer the embedded metadata over any online database? from what I’ve seen it’s been well known that the online database used by Plex are not super strong on classical music.
I actually did try rearranging the agent to prefer local metadata, but Plex did not pull the album art from there. Only track names and artist. I would probably be happy if Plex could use the album art and composer from the ID3 tags.
