Cleaning Up Library

So I have done a lot of work on my PC harddrive to revise and delete duplicate files. In plex, I still see old deleted files. Which option should work for me? Edit, Refresh, or Analyze.

I’m willing to wait for Plex to go thru it’s deep analysis, but for some reason I still see old files in my server. I’ve got the free version so perhaps the “cleaning” is only done with the paid option? Does anyone know?
Thanks.

Scan Library Files should do it. If not, follow up with Optimize Database, Clean Bundles, and Empty Trash.

Plex Pass is not required for any of it.

I’ve tried all these options, and still I see old thumbnail shots in my other videos, with this pop up when I try and open it

In Plex Web, go to the track, click on the overflow menu, and select ‘Get Info.’ That will show you the complete path to the file on the storage drive. Verify that it is correct.

Hi beckfield-

When I did that, this is what came up, saying “unavailable” which it is, because I’ve deleted it from my hard drive.

Edit this library,
go to the ‘Add Folders’ tab
verify that each of the folder paths listed there is

  • still existent
  • accessible
  • not a completely empty folder

After you have made sure of the above,
‘Scan Library Files’
followed by
‘Empty Trash’.

Oh, duh, I got mixed up on the problem. :confounded:

Hi Otto- I’ll try your idea when I get home. Thanks.

Thanks Otto! That did the trick- I had an extra path that shouldn’t be there. I think it is all cleaned out now! Thanks again!!
