I am currently using youtubetv for my tv needs. It works well but I would like to lessen my bill. I use firestick and Netflix ,amazon etc. I only use the youtubetv for the local stations. I dont want to climb on the roof to install an antenna and we are 70 miles from the tv stations that are considered local. We have a small cable provider with limited cable television. Approximately 20 channels. The channels are all SD and there is no box. My question is this if there is no box and all you do is screw the cable into the the television should that also work with a tuner card ie clear qam. If someone could help on this matter I would really appreciate it. Cable subscription for TV is only 25/month. I would like to buy the Hauppage WinTV-quad and use the PC (Plex) to DVR etc Will this work?
Nothing?
You should be able to feed that antenna cable into a tuner card / device, same as you would connect it to your TV. If the Tuner is compatible, you should be able to watch live tv through Plex or record it.
Keep in mind Plex will only work with unencrypted channels!

lol i was trying to keep it current
Thank You that was my assumption as well. The company does not provide a box. I assume the limited offerings they have are supplied with out encryption.
