Client Blacklist

I would like to be able to block client types from plex. I would like to do this in the web based Settings GUI.

For example: I don’t want anyone to connect using the AppleTV client. It looks to me like the clients all send their client type and version number with every request. I would like to say that AppleTV clients with versions 1.x.x.x etc cannot connect to my plex server.

Why? Presently there is a huge bug in the AppleTV plex application that has been present for months. Clients using AppleTV will crash my plex server.

There’s already an existing thread from some time ago. Even though that thread hasn’t gotten much attention, I’d like to ask you to comment/vote in that thread in order to avoid distracting votes.

[Feature Request] Restrict Access based on Device Type or Profile

The ability for Server Admins to restrict access to Device Type. For example, allow Users/Managed Users/Invited users to stream as normal from devices you (the server admin) decides such as allow Android Apps but block access from Web Browser. This would be extremely useful if the Server has limited resources and stops users from forcing transcode.
