Hi there. I have been using Plex for a while now but never really had much of an issue with it. However, as of last night, I am not getting audio at all for certain media on certain devices. I have narrowed it down some but I haven’t found a solution. Maybe someone can help me to narrow it down.
I think it is possibly AC3 related, although I am not sure.
In Plex, some things will play and some will not. One movie will play and another won’t. I haven’t found a common denominator. Things that won’t play on the client will play on the server (my desktop computer). They will also play on my television in the bedroom.
I mainly use a Roku, but to test I also tried with a FireStick. The issues are common to both devices in the living room. It doesn’t matter if I have input set to DTS or Dolby Digital.
Sounds that the Roku (or Firestick) make are present. I can play audio files from the client. Other services (Amazon Prime, HBO Max, YouTube ect.) are not an issue. The only issue on the client side that I can see for Audio is allow “DTS HD”. I have tried it both ways. I also have tried every combination I can think of in the video settings (allow/disallow direct stream ect) although the video is fine.
It has to be something to do with the surround settings and it could very well be downstream of either device but I just haven’t found any other settings to mess with. Any help is appreciated.
