Clients cannot see server

So I rebuilt the server again after the update to 1.27 and it held, it now seems to be working BUT only with Android based players such as Nvidia Shield 2019 pro (Hardwired) Firestick 4K (5ghz) Firestick 4K Max (Hardwired).

IT WILL NOT WORK with none Android players such as LGC9 (Hardwired, reports network error) - iPhone (5ghz, says files are unavailable) and 2 windows pcs one hard wired one connected by 5ghz, both say the server isn’t fast enough to convert streams, even if direct play is selected.

Please note these are not 4K files, they are a mix of 1080p, 720p and 576i - this is quite obviously an Android file permission problem that only Android devices can successfully access the server.

PMS is set to allow access to files always and is set for NAS access.

Maybe this is the guys problem with the Roku also?

Having original selected does not guarantee it will direct play. That error normally indicates that you’ve enabled the option to disable transcoding.

I haven’t disabled the option to stop transcoding, I have tried all options, I can’t believe you don’t get what the problem actually is… I can now add an Amazon fire kindle to the list of devices that work, please let me repeat:-

All Android devices can playback from the server.

All non Android devices can not playback, even on the same Network.

As stated I have tried all options, transcode on and off automatically reduce quality on and off.

It is a file access problem with Android (Google) which is how we got here in the first place, as stated before I gave an external ssd, I believe this may be important.

Clients don’t need file access. This is up to PMS. So that is not the problem.

Can you try playing something from your iPhone then get me the ios logs? Also send me the server logs after that attempt.

Please can you give me the information on how to generate the logs on iPhone please?

Ps attached is the error I get from trying to playback on iPhone (I get a different error screen in LG C9 TV and a totally different error again on PC, 3 different platforms, 3 different errors, as stated only Android devices work).

@carl_mcf Click on this to get the info on how to get the ios logs.

That error means the server is unable to find/access the media files. This has nothing to do with transcoding. Get me the logs and I’ll split this issue out to it’s own thread.

Here it is, do you want logs from LG and PC also?
They are different errors (but I bet it is the same problem).

Your logs indicate that the app can’t even see your server. There may be something with your server.

Can you restart your server, wait 3 minutes without doing anything, then get me the server logs?

Hi, I know that yet all Android devices playback from the server as previously stated.

So stopped the server and rebooted - as has been happening since Android 11 ever time there is a PMS update or I reboot the shield the server totally disappears I will now need to reinstall pms and do a restore, this is painfull…. It’s been like this for 5 months now.

Below is the last server log before it disappeared….
