I have a problem with the collection. When I import files, the collections are like TAG files and not like a collection. I mean you get collections like; Taxi, Space, 1990’s, cop, corruption, lawsuite and all.
And for me, the collection is like; Star Wars, Fast & Furious, Harry Potter and such. I also even disabled the option; Use Collection info from the Movie Database.. I have the latest version of Plex for Qnap.
Sounds like your files might have some embedded metadata. Plex is interpreting the Album tag in mp4/m4v/mov files as Collection tag if you have local media assets enabled.
I have now too many to clean the metadata, so I will then disable that local media assets first and then see later, to clean the metadata in the files.
So I have no idea, what to do. And if this is due to the Metadata, then I think Plex should make an option to disable that part. Or is there any option I can set? Or any other option?
Also don’t I see any of those Metadata inside the files. It looks like it is coming from PLex’s database or search engine.
Disabling local media assets in Settings > [Server Name] > Agents does not remove collections previously created. So you might need to manually delete those.
If you only now started to create your library it might be easier to create that library anew (with local media assets disabled).
I’m sorry I didn’t say, but I did deleted the library before and re-scan the library. But I also had the agent; XBMCnfoMoviesImporter inside. SO now I also removed this one, and then now begin to re-scan again.
It’s me again I have now scanned again and it seems that it is now working. So I guess the major problem was the XBMCnfo, which then, I guess, also used Kodi’s nfo’s. I always thought that Plex way of scanning was, first Top then to the bottom and as soon he found information, he would stop. But it seems it will scan all selected agents.
But thank you very much for pointing me to the right direction. I wouldn’t know otherwise where to look.
