I’ve created a Collection (manual, not smart) to track the movies that I’ve watched with a group of friends. The problem I keep seeing is that movies I haven’t intentionally added to the Collection keep showing up in it. I remove them, and they keep popping back up. Here’s the thing.
I’d created a small placeholder video file (“This media has been moved offline, please ask admin for it to be made available.”) and have been replacing watched movie files with a link to that placeholder using the original file name. This has worked out very well for keeping the entries listed in Plex without taking up a lot of space.
The unwanted movies that keep showing up in my Watched Collection are all ones linked to that placeholder, as are most of the ones I’ve intentionally added to the Collection. Could there be an issue with multiple entries in a Collection all pointing to the same file (through differently-named links)? Outside of that Collection I haven’t noticed any problems.
