Hello Everybody!
I am having a problem where I am trying to make a collection where I have movies spread between different sources (NAS). I am Giving all movies the same Collection tag, but when I try and Clock on the collection I am asked to Choose Sourse. Is there a way to Show all my mission imposseble movies in one collection without moving them to the same NAS? The reason is that i have all my BDs on one NAS and all DVDs and VHS on another.
Do you have duplicates of each on separate NAS’s, or do each NAS have a unique list of movies? I ask, because you mention having to “Choose Source”, which is a menu prompt I am unfamiliar with (I have no duplicate copies, like BD-Rip vs DVD-Rip).
How are these sources arranged? Did you make one single “Movie” library, which has multiple sources in the “Add folders” dialog in Manage Library > Edit?
If you make a single library with multiple folders, Plex will auto-magically combine duplicate movies (such as “Dune - DVD” and “Dune - Bluray”) into one poster in the one library. You CAN choose which of the two you play when you click to watch a movie, but I don’t think it brings up a “choose version” popup, Plex just chooses the best one for the client.
Thank you so much! Not sure how I didnt know I could have multiply folder in one library. You make my week!
I had two move librarys, one with all my blu-rays on one NAS and one library with dvd on my other nas. When I tried to make a collection with both blurays and dvd it created two collection. One for each library.
Ooh yeah, Collections do not like to bridge across separate libraries.
