Collections - ugh!

Collections are a great idea, but so poorly implemented.

Can I create any kind collection, across libraries, but have them show up in one grouping, either on the Library Menu or amongst the Home card view?

All I want to do is create a ‘Foreign Film’ category with ALL movies tagged as ‘foreign’ showing up in one group.

Current implentation does not allow one to add a Collection to the Library menu (which would be ideal) and when they are configured to appear on the Home view, the collections are still discrete and positioned beneath the initiating library (so they are not displayed as a monolithic group).

I have watched how-to videos and read help articles which indicate that giving the Collection the same name, across Libraries, will automatically consolidate the movies. I just updated my server software yesterday and this is not the case.

They won’t be consolidated, but will be listed as related content.

Here’s an example from a movie collection, listing its movies and underneath a hub of a related, same-named collection in a different library.

from the same-named tv-show collection…

I appreciate you corroborating my findings. But, as far a you know, I cannot have all my Foreign titles, across multiple Libraries, appear in one list.

I didn’t say you can… just how same-named collections are listed on each other’s pages.
For anything cross-library, you can only use playlists.
